| NEW! 2010 License Renewal and Continuing Education Requirements |
The Real Estate Commission is changing the staggered renewal periods for licensees to even-year renewal cycles with the transition beginning in 2010 - 2012. For real estate licensees who are currently on the two-year renewal cycle of 2008 – 2010, nothing has been changed and they are expected to complete eight hours of continuing education before June 30, 2010. However, real estate licensees who renewed in May and June of 2009 were issued a one-year license that ends in June 30, 2010. This annual license was issued to bring licensees to an even-year renewal cycle. Licensees on this one-year renewal cycle are required to accrue four (4) hours of continuing education prior to June 30, 2010.
The four hours of required continuing education may consist of any Commission-approved continuing education course(s) (core and/or elective). The goal of this transition is to have licensees on an even-year renewal cycle which will bring uniformity to the renewal and continuing education process.
