Staff –Sue earned her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with a minor in Business Administration from Excelsior College in Albany, New York. She was the  Assistant Director of Student Activities at Adirondack Community College in New York for 15 years before moving to SC.  Sue began working for Fortune Academy in 2003 and heads up the accounting department She is one of the friendly helpful voice you hear when you call Fortune Academy.

Staff – Dawn is the served in the United States Air Force for eight years, before coming to work at Fortune Academy in April 2006. She has a wealth of administrative experience.  Dawn has one child.  She is currently working on her associate’s degree in Accounting and Business Management.  Dawn is one of the friendly helpful voice you hear when you call Fortune Academy.

Real Estate Instructor – Sheryl earned a B.S. Degree in Business Education from UNC and has sixteen years of retail management background.  Sheryl has been active in Real Estate for eleven years as a salesperson, broker, and BIC.  She has done advanced study in professional development earning the GRI and ABR designations.  This has been an instructor with Fortune Academy for more than seven years in the Myrtle Beach area.

Real Estate Instructor – Kent graduated with honors from The Citadel in 1968.  He taught in the Horry County school system and is a former member of the Horry County Board of Education.  Kent owned and operated a manufacturing corporation for 18 years and was one of the founders of a business brokerage company.  He has been licensed in real estate since 1984 and has been an instructor with Fortune Academy since 2001.

Real Estate Instructor – Gloria earned her Masters Degree in Adult Education in 1972 from NC State University and a B. S. Degree in Business Education in 1967 from East Carolina University. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in the Community College system.  Gloria has been active in Real Estate sales for approximately 25 years serving as BIC for one of the largest RE Companies in Raleigh.  She has also done extensive training for new agents with HP & W, BH & G in Raleigh, as well as at Fortune Academy.  Gloria has a NC & SC Brokers license and both the GRI & CRP designations.  Gloria has been teaching for Fortune Academy for more than seven-year in the Myrtle Beach area.

Real Estate Instructor – Van was first licensed in 1981, and a Broker since 1985.  He holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Administration.  Van served several years as the Broker-in-Charge of a large general brokerage operation. Most of his assignments, however, have been in the sales management of planned residential communities in the Myrtle Beach and Charleston markets.  Van has also accumulated over seven hundred days of teaching experience as a substitute for Horry County Schools. He has been affiliated with Fortune Academy since 2004. 

Staff/Real Estate Instructor – Terri Anderson, is owner/BIC of Terri’s Team Real Estate – Anderson’s largest independent real estate company.  She has over 16 years of real estate experience and as well as 15 years in Advertising and Marketing. One of Anderson's top producers! 17 Years in real estate. Certified Real Estate Instructor. Owns Fortune Academy of Real Estate in Anderson. Designations include Graduate of Realtor Institute (GRI) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). Area of expertise is working with investors, small and large, development, new home building, commercial, and lake property. She serves on the professional standards committee at her local association.  Terri is also a developer and new homebuilder.

Staff/Real Estate Instructor – Ala is originally from Rep. of Georgia. She moved to the U.S. in 1994. She has worked as a graphic artist for a major outdoor advertising company for almost 2 years. Ala has been in Real Estate business since 1998. In addition to the real estate career she is co-owner and an instructor at Fortune Academy of Real Estate in Anderson. She is a Skilled Negotiator with extensive knowledge in financing, market analysts, and advertising. She speaks fluent Russian. Ala is experienced, great for any type of buyer or seller in the market, as well as any type of real estate investor.

Real Estate Instructor – Steve is a Broker with over 28 years of real estate and property management experience. Past real estate development, single family home construction, residential and commercial sales and marketing, and residential and commercial property management.  Steve teaches for Fortune Academy in the Beaufort/Bluffton area.

Real Estate Instructor – John earned his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.  He also attended the Masters program in Criminal Justice at Rutgers University, in Newark, NJ.  John has been active in Real Estate for eleven and is currently teaching for Fortune Academy in the Beaufort/Bluffton area.

Real Estate Instructor –  Shelby has been a realtor since 1995, Broker-in-Charge and past Housing Director for the Marine Corps in Washington D.C. Shelby teaches for Fortune Academy in the Beaufort area.

Real Estate Instructor –  Erik has been a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker since 1985 working in the Real Estate Industry for 34 years.  He served as President of the Charleston Trident Homebuilders Association and Sales & Marketing Council, 1989-1990.  He is winner of the following CTHBA Sales & Marketing Council Prism Awards: Sales Manager of the Year, Salesperson of the Year, Sales & Marketing Member of the Year. Erik is a member of Seacoast Church where he is the Coach of the “Seacoast Offers Support (SOS) Ministry.” His business, "Coaching For Positive Change" helps other Realtors become the "best" they can be.

Real Estate Instructor – John Hassell, a native of Charleston, brings 21years of Real Estate experience and a love of the low country to his teaching. He graduated from the College of Charleston and became a Realtor in 1985 specializing in commercial real estate. He has held committee positions at Charleston Trident Area Realtors. In addition, he is involved in civic affairs including the Exchange Club of Metropolitan Charleston and The Fellowship Society of Charleston. He belongs to the Carolina Yacht Club and the Downtown Athletic Club.  John enjoys fly-fishing and, if you are fortunate, you may one day partake of his culinary skill as a chef extraordinaire. Each summer, he volunteers his culinary talent to cook for a weeklong summer camp-Happy Days and Special Times-where he serves as a member of their development board.

Real Estate Instructor –   Susan brings ten years of Property Management knowledge to her Property Management course instruction at Fortune Academy.  Her past and present experiences as a Property Manager along with her knowledge of the essentials in Property Management make her an excellent resource for our Fortune Academy students. Susan is also a licensed Real Estate agent. Outside of her PM profession and classroom, she enjoys being a wife and mother and is an active volunteer with Big Brothers-Big Sisters. She's lived in Charleston for 16 years. 

Real Estate Instructor - Susan loves teaching! She spent seventeen years teaching middle and high school students in Orangeburg County schools before moving to the Charleston area in 2002. She began her Real Estate career in Greenville, SC. Susan is applying her love of teaching and her Real Estate experience to teaching adults now at Fortune Academy.  When she's not preparing our students for their state exams, she spends time as a semi-professional photographer taking wedding photos for friends. Always involved with people, Susan was a great asset to her band director husband throughout his 30 year career. She loves gardening so ask her about her favorite flowers.

Real Estate Instructor - Kimber Smith is a 25 year veteran of the Real Estate industry as a Broker, managing Real Estate offices, and teaching RE courses. He holds GRI and CRB designations. He's a proud Alumnus of Middlebury College in Vermont. For four years he plied the waters of the Atlantic on his 37 foot sailboat between Maine and Johns Island's Bohicket Marina keeping in touch with family and his love of the water. He finally settled on Seabrook Island.

Real Estate Instructor – Randy is a Licensed and Professional Real Estate Broker within the Charleston Area. Specializing in Buyer and Seller Representation. He am a Graduate of Realtor Institute, Accredited Buyers Representative, Certified Real Estate Consultant, Certified Real Estate Instructor, and a Board of Director on Charleston Trident Realtor Association’s  Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Randy was born and raised in the Upstate, Greenville Area.  He has lived in Charleston since 1989. Before Joining Weichert Realtors Palmetto Coast, he owned a Property Holding company for 7 years that remodeled Residential and Commercial Properties.

Real Estate Instructor – Diane is a graduate of Clemson University and has over 24 years of teaching experience in both the private and public school systems.  She received her Real Estate license in 1984 and twenty years later became Broker-In-Charge of her own agency, supervising nine associates.  Diane is active in her community and church and is presently serving on the Architectural Review Board and is also president of the Williamsburg Home Town Chamber.  She as been a Real Estate Instructor for two years and teaches for Fortune Academy in the Kingstree area.

Real Estate Instructor – Bob earned his BA from Clemson University and a MA in History from East Tennessee State University and postgraduate at the Institute for Sino-Soviet Studies of Georgetown Washing Universities.  Bob is a retired Air Force Officer of 21 years, a licensed Broker, and a former Broker/Owner.  He teaches for Fortune Academy in the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson area.

Real Estate Instructor – John was a Graduate student of Western Carolina University, and has a background in real estate and business management.  He is an experienced real estate agent that works with the sale and purchase of residential housing and land in the Greater Greenville market place. John was raised in the Upstate area and he has lived and worked here most of his life.  John teaches for Fortune Academy in the Greenville/Spartanburg area.

Real Estate Instructor – John has over thirty years as a broker in residential and commercial real estate.  His other experience includes appraisal, mortgage lending and home construction.  John has been an instructor for seven years.  He has a B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University with a major in real estate.

Real Estate Instructor – Thomas received his BA in Management from Sacred Heart College in 1982. Tom is an active Real Estate sales agent.  He is currently teaching for Fortune Academy in the Rock Hill Area.

Real Estate Instructor – John is a graduate of Gannon University with a BA in Business Administration.  He has worked in Real Estate sales and brokerage and has over twenty years as a Residential Real Estate Appraiser.  John has taught Real Estate courses in Pennsylvania, Florida and is currently teaching for Fortune Academy in our Spartanburg location.

Appraisal Instructor- Gil Instructs Appraisal courses in the Spartanburg area.

Real Estate Instructor – Tracy is the Broker-In-Charge of Shelton Properties in Spartanburg. She has been a licensed realtor since 1998.  Tracy also has a prior background in new home construction, serving as project manager, accounting, and job site supervisor for many local builders.  She is licensed in both SC and NC.  Tracy teaches for Fortune Academy in the Spartanburg area.

Real Estate Instructor – Shelly has spent over 15 years in the Financial and Management fields.  She has instructed several Discovery and childhood development courses. Shelly is a teaching professional, assisting future, new, and experienced agents continue their Real Estate practice.  She is a mother of 3 and grandmother of one.  Shelly has had a Real Estate license for over 5 years and is approved to instruct in the Sumter area.

Home Inspection Instructor – John Tullous is a licensed Home Inspector in SC and travels to various locations across the state teaching Home Inspection Courses. John owns a Home Inspection Services company and has appeared in several television productions on Home and Garden Television.
