How many hours of education do I need to become a Trainee Appraiser?
The Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) requires 75 hours of qualifying education — including the 15-Hour National USPAP Course — to qualify as a Trainee (Apprentice) Appraiser. Confirm any additional requirements with your state appraiser board.
Do I need a college degree to become a Trainee Appraiser?
No. The Trainee Appraiser credential does not require a college degree. A degree (or qualifying alternative) becomes a factor as you advance to the Licensed or Certified levels.
How long does the qualifying education take?
With our self-paced online format, most students complete the 75-hour requirement in a few weeks. You can move faster or slower to fit your schedule.
Is the course approved?
Our appraiser qualifying education follows the AQB Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria. We recommend confirming state-specific approval with your local appraiser board.
