What Our Students Have to Say About Us

Frequently Asked Question

Have questions regarding the ID real estate Salesperson course? We got you covered.

Yes, one needs to be 18-year-old or above as per the requirements of the SCREC

Ten (10) hours biennially if a ID resident licensee. 4 hours must be the core mandatory course and 6 hours must be electives. Brokers in Charge will have to take a mandatory BIC Responsibility 4-hour course in addition to the core course, and will only have to take 2 hours of electives. If you are a non-resident and licensed in your resident jurisdiction, you have to meet the CE requirements of your resident state. If you have 25 years of active licensed experience you may submit a request for Partial Continuing Education Exemption. If you meet the experience requirements based upon licensure in another jurisdiction, we will need you to obtain and submit certifications of licensure history. If you are active-duty military, you are exempt from CE while on active service

Our current courses are 100% self-paced and online. All course content is presented in a series of online screens with quizzes to determine mastery before moving to the next series.

If you are considering taking the state licensing exam, you can apply online by going to the PSI website and following the online prompts after registering for an account. Once your eligibility has been forwarded to PSI, you have received approval to schedule the state exam.

The Idaho Real Estate Commission has contracted with PSI. PSI will provide examinations for real estate licensure through a network of computer exam centers. Registering online is recommended for the fastest and convenient exam-scheduling process. If you have any difficulties scheduling your exam, call the PSI help line at 855-340-3701.

A high school diploma (or certificate of equivalency) is necessary as per the requirements of the SCREC

SCREC recognizes the qualifications of non-resident licensees of other jurisdiction, however one must still must apply for and take the ID portion of the real estate examination (and if applying to become a broker, meet the 3 years actively licensed sales experience requirements). With your examination application, you will need to submit certification(s) of licensure from any jurisdiction(s) in which you have held licensure in the last 5 years. You must also have been licensed within 6 months prior to ID Application. Resident applicants with licenses in other jurisdictions who have been residents for more than 6 months cannot qualify to take the ID. examination with just a certification of licensure from another jurisdiction. The resident applicant will also need to take the following pre-licensing education:
For a Salesperson exam applicant
A SC resident (for more than 6 months) with a license in another jurisdiction who will have to take Unit II: Advanced Real Estate Principles class (30 hours)
For a Broker exam applicant
a SC resident (for more than 6 months) with a broker license in another jurisdiction will have to take Broker Unit IIIA and Broker Unit IIIB classes (60 hours) PDF Exam Application Link: https://llr.sc.gov/re/recpdf/doc231.pdf Online Applications Link: https://llr.sc.gov/re/Instructions.aspx

img Step 1

Prerequisites:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a High School Diploma, GED or its equivalent. Proof of Legal Presence in the U.S. For graduates of an accredited law school, those that have received a degree from a university with a major course of study in real estate, former licensees, or those with a current license in another jurisdiction seeking licensure in Hawaii, please see the Hawaii Real Estate Branch website for detailed education and examination requirements for each candidate’s situation.

img Step 2

Complete 90 hours of Approved Pre-Licensing Education.

The Idaho Real Estate Commission requires that all license candidates complete an approved 90-hour Pre-Licensing Education course. Once the education requirement is satisfied (including both modules and the course exams), candidates have up to three years before the course completion becomes null.

img Step 3

Pass the course final exam.

After you complete all the course materials, meet the minimum time requirement, and pass the practice exam, there is a course final exam. The minimum passing score is 70%.

img Step 4

Pass the National & State Portions of the Salesperson Licensing Exam.

The next step is to pass the Idaho Salesperson Licensing Exam. The exam, which must be scheduled with Pearson VUE, consists of two parts; a state-specific portion and a national portion. For specific information on topics covered in the exams, please see the Pearson VUE candidate handbook. The exam fee is $80. Those seeking additional practice can do so by choosing a textbook from the approved textbook list. They can also download the License Law and Rules Booklet and guidelines are available from the IREC website. The National portion of this exam consists of 80 questions and a 150-minute time allowance, and the State portion consists of 50 questions and a 90-minute time allowance. For more information, see the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin. The state provides option of taking the licensing exam remotely instead of at a physical testing center location. PSI will have in-person on site testing available for those students who wish to take the exam in-person instead of online. An exam can be scheduled at this link. PSI has a dedicated number for candidates with scheduling/issues on their exam - (855) 579-4640.

img Step 5

Complete a Background Check with Fingerprinting.

State law mandates that all license applicants submit to fingerprinting and a background check. Fingerprinting can be completed at an authorized Pearson VUE testing center and can take anywhere from 1 to 12 weeks for processing. The fingerprinting fee is $61.25. Fingerprinting status, along with other aspects of the license application, can be checked through the applicant’s IREC Online Services account. Applicants with a criminal history aren’t necessarily disqualified from obtaining a license, but they may need to provide additional documentation. Please contact IREC for additional instructions for applicants with a criminal record.*Pay license fees using secure, online payment options *Print your license *Renew your license or check your renewal status *Update your account information
