What Our Students Have to Say About Us

Frequently Asked Question

Have questions regarding the OH real estate Salesperson course? We got you covered.

Yes, one needs to be 18-year-old or above as per the requirements of the SCREC

Ten (10) hours biennially if a OH resident licensee. 4 hours must be the core mandatory course and 6 hours must be electives. Brokers in Charge will have to take a mandatory BIC Responsibility 4-hour course in addition to the core course, and will only have to take 2 hours of electives. If you are a non-resident and licensed in your resident jurisdiction, you have to meet the CE requirements of your resident state. If you have 25 years of active licensed experience you may submit a request for Partial Continuing Education Exemption. If you meet the experience requirements based upon licensure in another jurisdiction, we will need you to obtain and submit certifications of licensure history. If you are active-duty military, you are exempt from CE while on active service

Our current courses are 100% self-paced and online. All course content is presented in a series of online screens with quizzes to determine mastery before moving to the next series.

If you are considering taking the state licensing exam, you can apply online by going to the PSI website and following the online prompts after registering for an account. Once your eligibility has been forwarded to PSI, you have received approval to schedule the state exam.

The Ohio Real Estate Commission has contracted with PSI. PSI will provide examinations for real estate licensure through a network of computer exam centers. Registering online is recommended for the fastest and convenient exam-scheduling process. If you have any difficulties scheduling your exam, call the PSI help line at 855-340-3701.

A high school diploma (or certificate of equivalency) is necessary as per the requirements of the SCREC

SCREC recognizes the qualifications of non-resident licensees of other jurisdiction, however one must still must apply for and take the OH portion of the real estate examination (and if applying to become a broker, meet the 3 years actively licensed sales experience requirements). With your examination application, you will need to submit certification(s) of licensure from any jurisdiction(s) in which you have held licensure in the last 5 years. You must also have been licensed within 6 months prior to OH Application. Resident applicants with licenses in other jurisdictions who have been residents for more than 6 months cannot qualify to take the OH. examination with just a certification of licensure from another jurisdiction. The resident applicant will also need to take the following pre-licensing education:
For a Salesperson exam applicant
A SC resident (for more than 6 months) with a license in another jurisdiction who will have to take Unit II: Advanced Real Estate Principles class (30 hours)
For a Broker exam applicant
a SC resident (for more than 6 months) with a broker license in another jurisdiction will have to take Broker Unit IIIA and Broker Unit IIIB classes (60 hours) PDF Exam Application Link: https://llr.sc.gov/re/recpdf/doc231.pdf Online Applications Link: https://llr.sc.gov/re/Instructions.aspx

All courses include an exam, which consists of 100 multiple-choice questions each. You must achieve a passing grade of 70% or more to receive your certificate of completion.

Yes, our agency requires that we receive and verify social security numbers through a copy of the social security card prior to issuing any license for any licensing Board.

img Step 1

Complete 120 Hours of Approved Pre-Licensing Education

Successfully complete 120 clock-hours of approved Pre-Licensing salesperson courses.

img Step 2

Pass the Course Final Exams

After you complete each course, you must pass the course final exam with a score of 70% or higher. Course completions are valid for 10 years after the date of issuance.

img Step 3

Select a Sponsoring Broker

To be licensed, you must be associated with and sponsored by a current and active Ohio Broker. It's important to find the right Broker to work with since this person will serve as your mentor as you start your new career in real estate. Here are some questions to consider during your search: What is their reputation, both locally and nationally? What kind of real estate agents are they looking for? Are they technologically advanced and up-to-date with the latest systems? How do they support their agents with education and training? What kind of commission structure do they offer? Do they offer benefits? Do they provide their agents with leads and marketing material? Is there room to grow with the brokerage?

img Step 4

Complete the Real Estate License Application

Once the division processes a complete application, your information is sent to the testing vendor, PSI. The testing vendor will process the information and send you a candidate information bulletin with instructions on scheduling your exam.

img Step 5

Pass the Ohio Real Estate License Exam

PSI administers the Ohio real estate salesperson exam. Ohio is providing the option of taking the licensing exam remotely instead of at a physical testing center location. PSI will still have in-person on site testing still available for those students who wish to take the exam in-person instead of online. Beginning August 11, 2021, candidates can schedule their exam at the PSI website. If you have any scheduling issues, PSI has a dedicated number for OH candidates: call (855) 834-8749.

Courses are provided in partnership with the CE Shop.
