Ask QuestionGot more questions about our SC Real Estate Salesperson course? We’ve got answers.
Per SCREC requirements, you need to be at least 18 years old to obtain an SC Real Estate Salesperson license.
You’ll need a high school diploma, GED, or the educational equivalent to qualify for the SC Real Estate Pre-Licensing Course.
If you’re a South Carolina resident, you’ll need ten CE hours every two years. Four of your ten hours must be the mandatory CE course; the remaining six CE hours can be electives. If you’re a Broker-in-Charge (BIC) in South Carolina, you also need to complete ten CE hours. You will need to take a four-hour BIC Responsibility course, the four-hour mandatory core course and two hours of electives. If you are a non-resident and are licensed in your respective state, you must meet your territory’s CE requirements.
SCREC recognizes many of your qualifications as a non-resident licensee in another jurisdiction. However, you will still need to pass the South Carolina portion of the real estate examination. If you’re applying as a broker, you’ll also need to have three years of active, licensed sales experience. You must also have been licensed within 6 months of your SC application. Alongside your application for the SC real estate examination, you will need to submit certification(s) of licensure from any jurisdiction where you’ve held a license in the last five years.
Courses are offered in-person, online, and on-demand. Some students prefer to learn in person, with peers and a qualified instructor in the room. Other students prefer to learn via scheduled, digital classes taught by instructors streaming in real time online. We also offer on-demand lessons for students who need more flexibility, allowing you to learn during more convenient hours of your day.
All coursework is designed to help you pass your South Carolina licensing exam and prepare you for a career in real estate. Topics include local government regulations and agency relationships. Courses are inspired by real-life scenarios you’ll face as a real estate salesperson in South Carolina.
The South Carolina Real Estate Commission has contracted with PSI to provide exams for real estate licensure through a network of computer examination centers. We recommend registering online for a fast, convenient exam-scheduling experience. If you have any difficulties scheduling your exam, call the PSI help line at (855) 340-3701.
All courses include an exam, which consists of 100 multiple-choice questions each. You must achieve a passing grade of 70% or more to receive your certificate of completion.
