What is Georgia real estate post-licensing education?
Georgia real estate post-licensing is a 25-hour GREC-approved course that all new Georgia salespersons must complete within their first year of licensure. It bridges the gap between the theoretical 75-hour pre-licensing course and real-world GA real estate practice, covering practical contracts, ethics, finance, marketing, and risk management.
When must I complete my GA post-licensing education?
GREC requires new Georgia salespersons to complete 25 hours of approved post-licensing education within one year of the original license issuance date. Most agents complete it in months 3–9 to stay well ahead of the deadline. Fortune Academy's course can be finished in 2–4 weeks of part-time online study.
What happens if I don't complete post-licensing on time?
If you fail to complete your 25-hour post-licensing within one year, GREC will place your Georgia real estate license on inactive status. You cannot practice real estate with an inactive license. To reactivate, you must complete the post-licensing education and pay reactivation fees. Complete post-licensing early to avoid this.

No. Post-licensing is a ONE-TIME 25-hour requirement new GA salespersons must complete within their first year. Continuing Education (CE) is an ONGOING 36-hour requirement every 4 years thereafter. You complete post-licensing first, then start your CE cycle in subsequent renewal periods.
Do GA brokers need post-licensing too?
Yes — Georgia brokers have their own post-licensing requirement separate from salesperson post-licensing. Newly-upgraded brokers must complete an additional GREC-approved broker post-licensing course within their first year as a licensed broker.
